Background

Whilst working for Manchester and Milton Keynes Colleges, Biddy worked with offenders who found coming to art lessons the highlight of their week. It taught focus, creativity, relaxation and helped towards making changes to their lives, albeit small. Discovering they were actually quite good at something helped to build their confidence.

This style of teaching, making students believe, learning tricks and techniques to improve their work and try different mediums, has transferred easily to adult students looking for an activity to enhance wellbeing.
The history of art is such a fascinating subject, often holding the reasons to why our design, clothes, buildings and décor changes.
Biddy has often heard people say, "I can’t do art", meaning they can't do art that looks like one of the great masters. Biddy believes that art is for everyone, and somewhere in everyone is an idea they would like to share, music, dance, theatre, sculpture, etc.
Different aspects of art are linked to every culture in the world. We all have art in our history and in our day-to-day lives; a great deal of which goes unnoticed.
Engagement in creativity can help people on the mend. Whether it be from, illness, accident, brain injury or mental health, art is for everyone and anyone to communicate with their ideas, feelings and experiences. Biddy has groups that cover all ages and backgrounds; all very sociable and friendly.
